The EarthWorks Protective Mask Project

One of the very first business partners that I met when EarthWorks was established in the late 1980’s was our longtime friend and printer Fran Pinter from American Printing in Easton Pennsylvania.  Since the beginning of EarthWorks Fran has printed every stitch of marketing material, office letter head and our client favorite – the EW notepads. He has been a rare friend and business partner and has been a big part of our success. in fact, it was Fran’s company that produced our first logo!

In 2008 Fran, and his wife Lisa, were looking to expand their family. They were familiar with adoption having adopted their two beautiful daughters from China. Fran and Lisa decided to adopt a baby boy and ventured off to Vietnam to bring home their new son Phu Van who they named Eric Van Pinter. Eric started life with a lot of health issues and has struggled his entire life.  Luckily his new parents love him and have work tirelessly to keep him strong and safe, but it has not been easy.  Eric has spent much of his life in and out of medical facilities which has been a strain on the family. Fortunately, the Pinters have been able to use facilities at the Ronald McDonald House to afford to spend more time near their son.

Protective Masks by Stephanie SimmonsWhen the coronavirus hit our country, Stephanie Simmons began sewing protective mask covers for first responders and medical support teams to put over their limited N95 masks to help them last longer and protect them while on the front lines of this horrific pandemic. To date she has donated more than 500 personal and protective masks.

When we wanted to make a few golf related masks to help protect our friends who have been so important to us over all these years Stephanie jumped in to create them. We also reached out to Fran for some help with this project.  Not only did Fran step right in and help us but provided us with yet another way to give back in this difficult time. Since he had been active in raising money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, he suggested that we join the cause with our masks, so we did. We sent out a couple of hundred golf masks and are asking our friends to post pictures of themselves sporting them on social media. For every posted photo EarthWorks will make a donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. We look forward to presenting Fran with a nice check for his favorite charity and supporting a great cause while helping our EarthWorks family stay just a little safer.

With Respect,
Joel Simmons, President
