Summer Stress Program

No one who works in the turf industry is a stranger to the signs of extreme heat stress on the plant. In fact we know that at a certain temperature, around 84⁰ F, the turf grass plant stops fully completing metabolic processes. This translates to a plant that cannot fully synthesize carbohydrates, proteins, fats, lipids, and finally secondary metabolites. At high temperatures the plants physiological processes and soil microbial populations, important for nutrient mobility, slow down. The use of EarthWorks liquid organic products have been shown to help superintendents get through the worst of what summer has to offer.

POTENT SEA – An additional 5 oz/1000 sq. ft. to the current spray program will help to provide needed carbohydrates to allow the plants metabolic process to function properly. In addition it will feed microbial populations and assure their support for the plant. Potent Sea is rich in kelp meal a known heat stress reducer. Beyond that, it is a highly engineered to provide much more in the way of carbohydrates, trace elements and soil conditioners. All of which become increasingly vital when the temperature rises.

KICK FLUSH – Flushing sodium and bicarbonates out of the root zone on a monthly basis will help to fight sodium induced wilt, localized dry spots and assure that the roots are getting needed oxygen.

SEA 3 – The newest of the EarthWorks bio-stimulants and soil conditioners, SEA 3 is designed to help manage fairways and sports fields providing powerful heat stress reduction and disease suppression in a cost effective manner. SEA 3 is formulated using the EarthWorks proprietary micronized humic acids but also seaweed extracts, fish emulsions, vermi-tea extractionsand de-salinated sea water that provides minerals in a liquid application to help fight nutrient deficiencies and suppress pathogens.
